Higher Quality with Less Quantity

Yesterday was my first day on the job in Census 2010. I applied for job A and was hired for job B. My work will be highly detailed and I will have many people from a large area reporting to me. So, today is the last "daily" post on Thrive Christians blog.

Last year I committed to write here daily with all my heart. This is blog number 278. I sensed it was a year long commitment, but I know now I have to make adjustments to be free to do my work in excellence. For you writers that contemplate whether blogging can help your writing, I must say I write with much greater ease on #278 than I did on #1. A dear friend told me that I have gained clarity in my writing for her reading.

I'm looking forward to this new work. I am a proud American and I can definitely put the money to good use. As a history buff I know the census has great influence in this nation on distributing the power and the resources. When I worked in Census 2000, you'd have thought I was on a mission of world significance. Interestingly enough, I've been employed in quality control. I do care that it is done accurately and as well as humans can do the massive task.

In Census 2000 one of my dearest friends who was independently wealthy, served under me just to have the privilege to contribute to her country. She was killed by a speeding youth that hit her head on. I had just finished talking with her on the phone...about how God can help us when frustrations of aggravating people get on our last nerve. So to Jane, I'm giving it my best. I cared before I met you; but I care even more after seeing what you gave to do the job right.

Less can be better; and in writing less usually is better. I will have plenty of time scattered between meetings and I plan to make Thrive Christians an important priority in those "in between" times. Sure hope this less of me catches on to my appetite. Ummm that would truly be better.

God bless you all this weekend.

This time of the year is the most significant remembrance time for all of us Christians.

Oh, Jesus...without you I'm sunk. All my sins; of action ... inaction...thoughts....attitude are covered, redeemed, wiped clean, gone...in Your blood. I will never get over You choosing me before I even knew You; You know me better than I know myself and You still love me. Oh, Redeemer, You are enough for me forever. Nothing matters as long as I am Yours and You are my Lord and Savior.

AMEN

Hi Kay!!

Knowing your attitude towards your work, I know for a fact that you will give your new job your all!!

I still am overwhelmed and amazed that I--yes, me, I am a child of God. Yes, He is enough, and I am forever thankful that He cared and loved me enough to wait for me to catch on to the fact that without Him I am and can do nothing.

Kay - good luck in your new position. I follow your blog, so I'll see when you do have a new post and come right over to read.

I only post 4 days a week, and I know many who post less. Life happens. You do what you can. We'll be waiting! Hugs!

I sure will miss your daily posts - but like Kelly, I have you on my blog, so I'll see when you update. Looking forward to what new experiences come your way that you'll share with us!

Thrive In Christ

Who I Am In Christ by Neil Anderson

For several months we will center on this book to pursue Thriving in our Christian journey.

Neil challenges us with: "Do you know who you are in God's eyes? We are no longer products of our past. We are primarily products of Christ's work on the cross. Who we are determines what we do.

You are not who you are in Christ because of the things you have done, you are in Christ because of what He has done. He died and rose again so that you and I could live in the FREEDOM of His love."

That's just the introduction. More to follow.
