Alive All Over

Don't we all seek to be "alive all over?" Check out Pastor Charles Spurgeon's words on Ephesians 2:

"I desire….that we may be alive all over. For some who profess faith, appear to be more dead than alive; life has only reached a fraction of their person.

Life is in their hearts, blessed be God for that, but it is only partially in their heads, for they do not study the gospel nor use their brains to understand its truths.

Life has not touched their silent tongues, their idle hands or their frost bitten pockets.

Their house is on fire, but it is only at one corner, and the devil is doing his best to put out the flame.

Alive all over…………Life that is quickened through being rooted in Jesus……being our first love.

Everything I am, everything I do, centered upon my love for Jesus!"

Eph 2:5, "He…..hath quickened us together with Christ…. "

I agree with Spurgeon and I love this King James Version "quickened." The Greek word for quickened means to animate. Imagine Jesus Christ enlivens and inspires us! In this context….anything that does not have Jesus at its source is lifeless; apart from him we can do nothing! "

I so agree with Pastor Spurgeon. Oh, how I desire to be "alive all over" in Christ.

What does "alive all over" mean to you?

Oh, Kay!!

I know "alive all over"!! I just never knew what to call it!!

And I truly appreciate being "alive all over" because I was "dead all over"!!

Now with Jesus in my life, the center of my focus--even in the bad times--I feel His presence and can feel joyful.

I know that HE will use these bad times that I may be going through to further HIS plans and purposes for my life--His Will in me!!

And how can we not feel "alive all over", feeling this joy even in the midst of troubles?

As I thought about "Alive All Over" - my first thoughts went to every part of my body. To have strength to get up in the morning and seek Him - to have the mindset to know He is waiting for me to talk to Him,etc. But then as I thought more about it - I think it also means alive in every aspect of our life. Alive At Work. Alive At Church. Alive At Home. Alive On Vacation. Wherever I go, whatever I do - God has to be at the forefront to make a difference.

I'm like Beth, I know alive all over just never really had the words to explain it.

To me it's feeling the Holy Spirit working all through my body. Actually being used as a vehicle for him to do his work. It's feeling Jesus and everything that he did for me, throughout my whole being, inside and out.

Its a feeling of actually being alive and that I do have a purpose in this life. All that junk of my past has been turned into the second sweetest gift I could be given.

Thanks Kay!

Thrive In Christ

Who I Am In Christ by Neil Anderson

For several months we will center on this book to pursue Thriving in our Christian journey.

Neil challenges us with: "Do you know who you are in God's eyes? We are no longer products of our past. We are primarily products of Christ's work on the cross. Who we are determines what we do.

You are not who you are in Christ because of the things you have done, you are in Christ because of what He has done. He died and rose again so that you and I could live in the FREEDOM of His love."

That's just the introduction. More to follow.
