Want to Know Depth of a Christian?
The answer to these 3 questions tells much about the depth of a Christian:
What does Jesus mean to you?
How has He changed your life?
How do you live out Christ in your life?
I'd love to read your answers. I will post my answers tomorrow.
Jesus is my focus in life. He is the source of anything and everything I do. I have come to realize that I am nothing without HIM in my life. He has given me freedom--freedom from my past, broken chains that I thought could never be broken. I guess I just have to say that He is the love of my life.
2. How has He changed your life?
I answered a little bit of this question in #1, but more than anything the change that has come over me has been from an angry and bitter person to one who is calm, peaceful and joyful. And the source of this calmness, peacefulness and joyfulness--Jesus, none other than Jesus. Forgiveness and trust were two great struggles of mine, and I am glad to say that through a lot of prayer and guidance from God and other fellow Christians--that I have forgiven some that I once said I would never be able to forgive and am now able to trust God completely in His direction and will for my life.
3. How do you live out Christ in your life?
I live my life, to the best of my ability, with a Christ-like attitude, trying my best to love other unconditionally. I try to live out the Fruits of the Spirit in my everyday life. I'm not one to preach at others, but when others view the total me and hear me speak, I want them to be able to look at me and see Jesus' love for them.
1. What would someone mean to you that gave up their life so you wouldn't have to die? Maybe a soldier would have a great parallel to that, but knowing that Jesus loves me that much means anything but my best will never do. 2. Jesus has always been there, but in my sinful nature, I have not always been there for Him. It wasn't until after the birth of my first daughter that reality hit and I needed to start getting my life back on track. 3. I hope my example exemplifies Christ. I hope my children see the importance of living a life for Christ through me.
For several months we will center on this book to pursue Thriving in our Christian journey.
Neil challenges us with: "Do you know who you are in God's eyes? We are no longer products of our past. We are primarily products of Christ's work on the cross. Who we are determines what we do.
You are not who you are in Christ because of the things you have done, you are in Christ because of what He has done. He died and rose again so that you and I could live in the FREEDOM of His love."
